Matthew Wold

It started with a Macintosh LC III, evolved into a secret DOS PC hidden in the closet cracking password files, and late night cyber shenanigans which evolved into a full-time career.

My path from tinkering to a passion for cybersecurity.

It all started when I got my first Macintosh LC III computer. While in middle school I borrowed a 28.8 kbps dial-up modem and some credentials to access the local university computer system. From there it was late nights learning VAX/VMS, IRC, Gopher, programming, research, and anything involving signals. I learned some programming in high school and then went off to college where I continued to study computer science and programming; became an avid war-driver and phone phreak. I later went back to academia and acquired a degree in cybersecurity.

My hobbies include: Most things outdoors, reading, radios, weather, OSINT, and working in my home security lab.
